Guys, I’m not much of a meditation person, but a coach once shared this simple mindset ritual with me, and it’s truly going to knock your socks off.
What you need: you, a flat surface, and a 10-minute timer. That’s it.
And what are you going to do? Lie flat, get yourself comfortable, and start that timer.
Yep, just relax there for 10 minutes – no getting up allowed.
Let all those thoughts come – those mental reminders, problems, worries about your day – and just process through them as you’re lying there.
Trust me, your 10 minutes is going to fly by!
And when you get up, you feel refreshed and calmed, almost like you’ve had a power nap.
So here’s why I think this works. Number one, you’re allowing yourself to focus on your problems, get that “brain bubble” up to the surface where you can deal with it.
That’s a powerful aspect of mental decluttering, and you need it – daily. Why? Because you’re a mom. You’ve got kids to deal with. *And* you’re running a business.
So trust me, there’s always tons of stuff that needs decluttering in your brain, all right?
And the second reason is, you’re allowing yourself to lay flat. I.e., sink into relaxation. You’re giving your body signals that it’s okay to release the stress it’s been holding onto, be still, and just breathe.
Guys, this is powerful. It does something to your brain. You literally feel calmer when you get up – yes, just after 10 measly minutes.
So if you want the speedy way to clear your mental brain fog and clear out the stress that’s been accumulating in your body, try the 10-day lay-down challenge.
Just 10 minutes a day, 10 days in a row, and see how you feel.
My bet is you won’t want to stop.
