Are you cringing inside at the thought of your kids finding out you have something else to do with your life? Something that you genuinely *want* to spend your time and your talents on, that’s not about them?
First off, why? What are you afraid of?
Go deeper, and ask the 5 why’s.
Why do I feel like I need to hide this business from my family?
Pause.
Okay, why is that?
Pause.
Why do I feel that way?
Pause.
What’s the real reason underneath there?
Pause.
What am I worried about because of that?
Pause.
And there’s your answer. *Now* we can take steps to mitigate this.
I want you to feel fully free to step into this new evolution of yourself – this woman who has a husband and a family *and* works from home.
But you can’t release *yourself* to do this until you know the secret stories your brain has been telling you.
Go over those 5 questions again, if you need to. Journal on them a bit. And then ask God where’s there’s any truth, and what is just lies.
‘Cause most often our brain’s worries are all lies from the enemy. And you definitely don’t want *that* shaping your fledgling business. (Talk about starting off on the wrong foot!)
No, you want God’s truth about who you are, who He created you to be, and what He’s gifted you to take to the world. Who He’s calling you to serve.
But that, my friend, takes some digging (and some sitting) before Him.
So before you head into your next branding project, or write that next set of launch emails, I challenge you to do a little excavation on your mental mindset.
Set the right foundation for this next business venture or project.
Make sure it’s not set on shifting sand.
‘Cause when all the lies are out, and all the truth is in, it’s like mortar freshly packed around the bricks of your purpose and talent and giftings.
It’s going to hold.
But first you have to get the acid of those lies out.
So set aside some time today to really think through, really sit with what’s been going on underneath the surface for you – especially as it relates to your family, your fears for your kids, and your worries over having enough time to pour into them.
The truth will set you free.
Amen.
