Hey, and welcome back!
Today we’re going into the 6 ways I can customize my 3-part framework of Scheduling, Mindset, and Delegation to your specific family and where you are right now in your business.
So let’s get started.
First off is your level of time management ability: if you need housekeeping routines setup, if you need business startup hours creation, or if you need scaling & delegation strategies, I’ve got you covered.
That’s 3 different levels of mom productivity right there.
Second is your number of kids – ‘cause we as moms know this is all-important! So whether you’ve just got 2 kids and are already done or whether you’ve got 6 and counting, I’ve got the family management strategies to help you.
(‘Cause let me tell you, cooking lunch for 3 people is way different than handling a 9-person meal!)
Third, we’re going to look at your work location.
In other words, if you’re home all day with your kids (say they’re babies or homeschooling) vs. if you work out of a nearby office or service provider center but are frequently home with your kids, versus if you send your kids to school and have the house to yourself most of the day.
Those are all different ways to structure your day, and I’m going to help you fit your particular stage to them.
Fourth, I need to know your kids’ ages. Ultra crucial info here.
Maybe you’ve got babies and feeding schedules to work around; what if you’re chasing all the little grubby toddlers and giving diaper changes; perhaps you’re handling the homeschooling and how do I teach reading and chore chart starting; or maybe you’ve got a bunch of middle schoolers who are really capable around the house; what if you’ve got a huge age mix; perhaps you’ve got high schoolers and college hand-offs and still need to play parent but they’re awfully independent.
Lots of strategies to solve for here!
And fifth, the number of work hours desired is a really big piece of the puzzle.
Meaning, if you need to scrunch down your business to 5 hours a week to deal with chronic illness appointments and caretaking, that’s one set of strategies.
Versus if you’ve got 15-20 hours available in your part-time work load, that’s a completely different ballgame.
Same for if you can squeeze out 10 hours per week during naptimes, compared to looking at 30-40 hours a week and wondering how it’s all going to fit in.
Finally, sixth, we’re going to look at your level in business and decide what combo of strategies you need to make your day-to-day business a success. Aka, does my scheduling-mindset-delegation framework change depending on which level you’re at?
Well, no; we just customize it.
If you’re just-the-mom: mindset (that you’re allowed to take a break), delegation (chores to kids), and scheduling (to make sure you’re hitting all the kid park outings & meal prep in your days).
When you’re a startup entrepreneur: mindset (you’re allowed to do this & upset your family’s schedule), delegation (as much as possible to the kids), and scheduling (to fit in & stick to your new work hours).
Now the committed entrepreneur: mindset (clearing the mom guilt each time it comes up + allowing yourself to make changes to anything that feels heavy in this season’s schedule), delegation (advanced kid delegating tactics + outsourcing to 1st VA), and scheduling (different types of business tasks, really honing her CEO schedule, making time for relaxation).
What if you’re a scaling entrepreneur?
Mindset (going for bigger & bigger goals, fixing the problems along the way, not making yourself wrong), delegation (advanced team delegation strategies), and scheduling (client vs. content vs. team vs. personal vs. family).
See, it all works. Those 3 pillars take care of everything you need on the work-from-home business-owning front.
And next up, I’m going to dive into your top questions and what if’s around this “time management is the cure” hypothesis – ‘cause your viewpoints on this are very important.
I’ll see you in the next episode! That’s all for now, and have a wonderful day.
Got q’s? See you in the DMs or on email or in a call!
What if you could run your work-at-home business, manage the kids and house, and get a break every single day – without being a bad mom? What if you had a mompreneur life you didn’t need a vacation from?
Here’s your working-from-home-with-kids solution: delegate 65% of your chores, set up a 3-item daily to-do list, and get 3 hours back for your business every day!
‘Cause guess what? You don’t need another time management program or productivity system as a work-from-home mom. What you need is a way to turn your daily mompreneur life around from crazy-busy hustle-with-kids mode to actually-like-my-life (and bring in money!) mode.
‘Cause hustle wasn’t meant to be normal. Not when you’re a mom with a business.
