Okay. I know this sounds super counter-productive, but you *do* actually need to be taking breaks in your day (not just cramming more and more through the priority list).
If that sounds way too slowed down, and just plain non-efficient, hear me out: *you* working overtime does not equal a good end product.
Period.
You working in your highest creative energy, or loving on your kids and energetically swinging them around the house, *does*. Okay?
So ultimately this comes down to which kind of end product matters most to you? The “how much I got done in a day” one, or the “did I produce my best content or best parenting or best marketing outreach” version?
You choose. Literally! You. Choose.
This is going to be how you make it. Whatever the top-most priority is to *you*. Whether that’s babies or business, output or input.
I can’t choose it for you. (I wish I could, but I can’t.)
So you have to decide for yourself. Am I going to be the kind of person – work from home, CEO mom – who goes for her highest output (as in number of things) at all times, or am I going to make space for creative *input*?
For processing?
For rest and snuggle time, as well as mommy brain energy food prepping time, or kid-friendly family meal Instapot-ing time?
See, you have to have *both*. Both are *essential*.
Yes to the to-do list, the task list, the chore list that’s keeping you on track – but also yes to the downtime, the hobbies, the time with family, and the time alone with God that are going to keep you sane and well and *happy* during this long haul of business scaling plus little person parenting.
They’re *both* needed. And letting yourself take breaks is just the *practical* example of what it means to fully embrace both.
Over to you – what ways could you embrace *both* sides of this productivity-and-rest paradigm today?
What would shift about your rest time, your CEO energy time, or your take-a-break-input time if you truly allowed yourself to go there today?
That’s my homework for you. ‘Cause slowing down – is truly going to speed you up.
You just have to start living like you believe it – starting today.
What’s changing about your break load right after this?
