What do you do when the toddler spilled her milk-and-cheerios, your son got to stomping level with his “don’t tell me what to do” attitude, and you’re not feeling so perky yourself because you stayed up last night watching just one more episode?
Here’s my favorite way to turn a bad #momday around – let’s see if it works for you.
Horrible, no-good day hacks
All you have to do is follow these 3 steps:
- First, I speed-whack a few of the urgent #momlife fires around me. (Sop up the milk, change her clothes, send son to room so he doesn’t hit his brother, you know the drill.)
- Next, I quickly take stock: what really needs to happen right now, that hasn’t yet? (Am I still in pajamas, low on food, or avoiding food-prepping for supper? Knock those out, right now.)
- Then, I make a new (smaller) list for the day: what three things should I focus on now? Ditch that ideal to-do list and start fresh – not to mention smaller. (I’m going to make bread ‘cause we’re almost out, do a living room pickup so I can actually think, and untangle a few siblings again, because #momlife.)
Perfectionism is not welcome
You see, it’s not about being the perfect mom all the time and never having a day go wrong. It’s not about keeping all those plates in the air and never dropping a single one.
It’s about knowing what YOU need, what’s most essential right now, and how to flex to meet the day.
Just that.
And if you’re having a hard time getting your head around being allowed to take breaks – being allowed to cross out your to-do list without finishing it – or how to make a new plan for the day, then I want to invite you into #Momlife Made Easy. Because on the other side is the flexible, no-guilt #momlife you need, and I’m here and ready to walk you through it. Enroll here, and I’ll see you inside – your #momlife transformation is about to begin.
All you have to do is this
Just take the chaos one step at a time.
ID what you need to do next to make it better.
And give yourself a break on the to-do list expectations.
You’re going to get through this.
And in an hour, it’s going to be so much better.
You’ve got this. I promise.
