Is decision-making overwhelm an all-too-frequent part of your day?
Then you’ll want to listen to this episode, because I’m sharing with you my secret hack for how to make the right decision in *every single circumstance* you’re facing as a mom. (And business owner.)
It’s simple: The right choice is the lighter choice.
Lighter, easier, no regrets, I would feel better if….
You have a thousand and one ways to frame this. But fundamentally, what feels better to *you*.
Easier to get your mouth around to *you*.
Smoother to get and keep running to *you*.
That’s what you need to be focusing on.
Hey, here’s an example. Say your after-dinner put-away routine is getting really crazy, because you’re the only one who can *find* anything in the fridge.
Which also translates to the only one who can cram in one more supper leftover, rearrange the whole jenga pile without knocking anything down, etcetera.
But it’s a drag, even for you, and you’re getting tired of not being able to outsource this. Or tell anyone where to find anything in the fridge (that doesn’t end in exasperation with you throwing up your hands saying, “I’ll find it!”).
So, what’s the fix?
Make your process simpler. Like this:
- Here’s the drawer for sandwich fixings.
- This is the drawer for half-frozen things thawing.
- This one over here is the prepped (or un-prepped) fruits and veggies.
- All drinks live on this shelf.
- All leftovers live in this bin or pull out or side of the fridge.
- And mom’s smoothies are up here right on top – no taking!
You see? It doesn’t have to take a ton of organizational effort. You don’t have to be a professional organizer. You don’t even need a huge pretty-Target-containers budget.
All you have to do is designate some spots in your fridge (I like to call them zones), consistently put those types of food there, and start telling your family about it.
(And make sure no jenga piles are ever allowed again! Aka, no food cooking if your leftovers are making a tower. Got it?)
Bottom line, you’re allowed to make life easier on yourself.
- You’re allowed to say that this launch schedule is too hard, and you’re going to upload some killer pre-recorded trainings, then go heavy on the personal engagement with everyone who watches your trainings.
- It’s okay to cancel every optional birthday party, order takeout once a week extra, and hole up in your room every night after the kids go to bed for just 30 minutes when it’s finally launch week and you need every extra ounce of time.
- You’re permitted to delete half the stuff on that fancy marketing plan and just execute on what *you* know are going to be the heavy hitters.
- It’s even okay to cancel everything optional and request your husband to drive the kids to park day if you’re in the midst of a huge content creation jag, and you just need to get it all out!
It’s okay. Okay to do this both in your home life, and in your business.
Where do you need to make the lighter choice today?
