So when you’re feeling stuck on what you want – I want you to ask yourself this question:
What can I do to fix this problem?
‘Cause your motivator is always going to be your ability to see how you could fix the problem.
And this isn’t focusing on the negative for you – it’s how you were designed to poke at things. Optimize them.
It’s going to fall into place for you when you start approaching your problems from this lens.
OK, so as a manifestor, you need to delegate as much as possible.
‘Cause you’re not actually meant to have the internal battery power to work a full day on your business – even if you love it.
You’re going to either feel ginormously lit up and inspired and so full of energy to execute on something that’s your latest brainwave….
Or like you just have no energy and zero desire to work on anything. (Except fun stuff that counts as giving yourself a break.)
So give yourself the freedom to work more in these burst/rest cycles – don’t let other people make that be wrong – and set your deadlines up in such a way that you don’t have to on every week.
(Now, of course, to do this, you’re going to need to delegate a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Both in your home and your business. So make sure you have a bunch of outsourcing there around anything that involves executing on all the details, responding to customer service messages/basic client q’s/etcetera, any house cleaning type stuff, just pretty much anything that can be handed off to a capable subordinate. Giving you the freedom to produce/create/show up when you’re on, and have all that stuff batched/ready to go when you’re not.)
Which is why you’ve been feeling so utterly run out of juice at the end of the day (okay, before!) – because you’re handling all the childcare for your daughter plus your needy clients plus everything for the house (as a single mom) and you don’t get any downtime.
And you’re at a constant level of rat-race output.
Now, can you see how this is diametrically opposite how you’re supposed to be operating? Like how you were designed to work?
No energy bursts, no outsourcing, no loads of free time, none of it. All on you.
Now, you may or may not be able to change all that just by saying “you need to hire 3 different people” and magically find the money for them right now, but we can make sure you’re aligning your work style with exactly what goes on during the day.
So for you, double check whether you’re working wherever you feel inspired – you don’t necessarily care about neat environments (or even regular work spaces that you return to day after day).
And you’re also going to want to have all these pre-chosen tasks and projects that you do every 10:30 on Tuesday or every Friday after lunch, for example. Your brain likes this kind of super structured, here’s when I do this, always consistent kind of schedule.
So don’t let anyone tell you you ought to be more “in flow” with your routine – that’s fine for them, it doesn’t work for you. Okay?
And the other thing your brain wants to do is to actually give yourself the freedom to just work on what feels next to you under each project.
So you don’t want the 20-step plans on how to plan out your content or what have you – you want to just see what your brain pulls out as the next immediate step for you. Whether that’s drafting captions, or strategizing pre-launch content, or just free writing the darn thing already to get in the groove.
Your brain knows what it needs next; it just needs you to let it (even if that’s not the most “strategic” part to work on next).
So you’re very left brain about picking what you want to work on – but very right brain in terms of how you actually approach starting it. That make sense?
OK. So here’s what I’d recommend for you from here.
Obviously, big picture, you’re going to need to delegate quite the pile of stuff to make room for all this working in cycles.
And depending on what all’s on your plate – like do you have kids at home still, are you homeschooling, do you need to be helping with homework, are you driving them to band practice, are they neuro-divergent, how much of the house load are you carrying, are they in college prep season, are you driving them to tons of rehearsals, not to mention keeping them in clothes when they’re growing, right, and if you have any special diets you’re responsible for managing….
There’s a lot that goes into just having the space in your day to set up these new routines and outsourcing lists and family and client boundaries now that you know your energy type.
Plus avoiding the mindset icebergs that keep sucking you right back into your old ways of doing things.
(You know, like showing up to work ‘cause that’s how they tell you to build “consistency” even though you know well and good that you just came off of a burst cycle….)
So you may not even have the schedule room to set up your proper right/left brain working style right now. (Let alone carve out all that free time to start ideating on what you need to do to fix the rest of this.)
Or maybe you do – hopefully you do.
But that’s where I’d leave you right now – you want to start telling your VA or your OBM or your kid that there’s going to be some pretty big changes around here in how you’re doing business.
Like in the nitty gritty, how you show up for work every day mode – and in what you’re going to be expecting them to do.
‘Cause I gotta say, it’s amazing how much less you have to push and fight and “square peg into round hole” yourself to make all these revenue goals and big rocks for this quarter, when you just scrap all the “standard” time management strategies, and start from the ground up making everything suit you.
Which is the totally fun part, to me – junking all the “normal” business advice you get on how to run your to-do list, manage your day, how much time you should expect for yourself, everything – ‘cause most of it really is absolutely counter to your Human Design nuances.
And there’s a ton of it – and I’m on a mission to change it.
‘Cause you don’t need to force yourself through your workday to make great money. You can hit every single big priority project this quarter to grow this business.
And you can even 2x your business without taking on 3 more people’s jobs (that you don’t have time for) – because being an entrepreneur gets to be the goal-crushing, non-stressful, count-on-able part of your life.
Not this angst-y, pressured, “how am I going to make this work” thing on top of your house and kids.
And 6 months from now, what I’d love to hear from you is that you can’t even remember the last time you forced yourself into the old way of powering through your day anymore – ‘cause that’s how much your normal way of operating as a biz owner has changed for you.
So work with somebody (or multiple somebodies) to get that all figured out – doesn’t have to be me – so you aren’t slowing down your biz like crazy ‘cause you’re fighting yourself and your natural way of working at every step of the way.
So, I hope that gives you a liiiittle more clarity around what’s going on under the surface of this work-from-home gig, plus some lightbulbs around how you specifically are designed to operate.
‘Cause the fastest way for biz to feel easy – no matter what your revenue and conversion rates and actual clients are doing – is to show up for all of it in a non-draining way, every single day.
That’s how you love business without getting sucked into performance.
Okay, that’s all for now, and have a great day!
